Yoon refuses to show for questioning for third time

President Yoon Suk Yeol on Sunday again refused to attend a questioning session at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials.
The third summons, issued last Thursday, is likely to have been the final request.
Usually, investigators request an arrest warrant after three summons are rejected.
However, whether the court will issue a warrant is not clear as a sitting South Korean president has never been arrested before.
Yoon’s legal representatives previously said certain issues have to be settled first, including the fact that the CIO does not have the authority to investigate insurrection charges.
The CIO has since said that it does have the authority.
