A chilly wind is bringing temperatures down a couple of degrees this morning and highs will also be much lower than Monday. However, readings on New Year’s Day will hover way above norms under mostly sunny skies.
The last sunset and first sunrise of the New Year will be visible wherever you are. The first sunshine in Korea will be on Dokdo, the easternmost island at 7:26 AM.
Meanwhile, wildfire danger in east coast regions remains high with dry weather alerts in place.
Afternoon highs will be 2 to 8 degrees lower than yesterday at 4 degrees Celsius in Seoul and Chuncheon, Daegu will see a high of 7 degrees. Sunny skies are expected nationwide. However, southern provinces will have high levels of fine dust during the first half of the day.
We’ll have temperatures right around norms through Sunday with spotty rain in store in the capital on Sunday.
