[Weather] Torrential monsoon rain in central areas, heat alerts in south


Good morning. Heavy monsoon rain is forecast to pound down on many parts of Korea today. Right now, the central regions, Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do Province are seeing downpours.
Throughout the day, the capital area and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province could see up to 120 millimeters of torrential rain lashing down.
Rain alerts in central regions will expand to more parts of the country including here in Seoul. Meanwhile, Chuncheong-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provinces are under “caution” the third-highest on the landslide alert’s four-tier scale.
Temperature-wise, Seoul gets up to 27 degrees, many southern provinces are under heat advisories, Daegu had a tropical night and will see a high of 31 degrees this afternoon. Busan and nearby areas will see spotty to no rain today. Jeju will be under sunny skies this afternoon with a high of 34 degrees.
We are expecting frequent monsoon rain this week across Korea.
