Over on Wall Street, both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq saw more record highs on Wednesday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Index ended flat.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq ended trading at 18-thousand-188-point-three-zero, up 159-point-five-four points, or zero-point-eight-eight percent from the previous trading day to reach a fresh record high.
The S&P 500 also ended with another record high, closing at 5-thousand-537-point-zero-two, up over 28 points from the previous day.
Economists say the continued positive momentum on Wall Street comes on the back of signs that a rate cut might happen in September.
