Israel’s military ordered the evacuation of areas to the east of Gaza’s second-largest city Khan Younis on Monday night local time.
The order was made after some 20 rockets were fired into Israel by the Palestinian militant group “Islamic Jihad” from the city.
Pundits believe the call for evacuation indicates a fresh ground offensive by Israel into Khan Younis.
The call covers the area around the city’s European Hospital as well as temporary tent shelters for the displaced.
