Samsung Electronics’ largest labor union started its first-ever general strike on Monday.
With around six-thousand participants, the National Samsung Electronics Union began a rally this morning near one of Samsung’s business sites in the city of Hwaseong in Gyeonggi-do Province and said the strike will last for three days.
The union also said it aims to distract business operations as around 80 percent of the participants work in manufacturing and development.
If the labor union’s requirements, mostly related to payment raises, are not negotiated, the next strike starts on July 15th.
