Fmr. reporter nominated for Korea’s broadcasting watchdog chief


President Yoon Suk Yeol on Thursday nominated Lee Jin-sook for the chair of the Korea Communications Committee.
Now this is the third nomination for the post over the course of a year as the previous chairs stepped down amid impeachment plans by opposition lawmakers.
Lee Jin-sook who is currently the head of the Daejeon branch of Korean broadcaster MBC formerly worked as a news reporter for over three decades.
Separately former Second Vice Minister for Finance Kim Wan-sup has been tapped to head the Environment Ministry while current First Vice Minister for Finance Kim Byoung-hwan has been named for the post of Financial Services Commissioner.
