Spain’s annual festival of San Fermín began as the clock struck midnight on July 7th, with thousands gathered in Pamplona’s main square.
The San Fermín crowd, dressed in traditional white outfits and red scarves, waited until noon on Sunday for the start of the famous running of the bulls.
The runs showcase six purpose-bred fighting bulls, weighing between 500 and 630 kilograms, chasing runners through the narrow streets of Pamplona’s old quarter, over an 800-meter stretch.
According to officials, medical reports indicated six injuries, including one due to goring, with injured participants transported to hospital.
