The new year, 2025 welcomes the year of the snake, in particular the blue snake, a symbol of revival, wise improvements and new beginnings. so we are going to talk about Korean celebrities born in the year of the snake.
First, let’s start with actors born in the year of the snake. Veteran actors Na Moon-hee, Kim Hye-ja and Kang Bu-ja were all born in 1941. Also, actress Kim Hee-sun and actor Won Bin from 1977 and younger actors like Kim Woo-bin and Lee Jong-suk, born in 1989, are some notable actors born in the year of the snake.

“Squid Game 2” has become the most-watched content on Netflix with nearly 500 million hours of viewing time worldwide within its first week of release on December 26th. According to ‘Netflix Top 10,’ “Squid Game” Season 2 received 68 million views in the fourth week of December, its first week of release. It also set a new record for ‘first-week watch time’ with around 488 million hours of viewing time worldwide. The new season consists of 7 episodes and has a total runtime of 7 hours and 10 minutes. Despite mixed reactions after its release, “Squid Game 2” topped the charts in 92 countries, including the U.S., France, Japan, India, and Australia.
With the new season, “Squid Game Season 1” also ranked third on the weekly ranking during the fourth week of December.
Any updates on season 3?
It has already been announced that “Squid Game” season 3 will be released some time this year. Well, on January 1st, Netflix unveiled a special teaser poster, hinting that Young-hee, the iconic figure from the game “Mugunghwa Kkochi Pieot Seuminda” or “Red Light, Green Light,” and Cheol-soo, who made a surprise appearance in the Season 2 post-credits scene, will play central roles in Season 3. Young-hee and Cheol-soo are names of characters that appeared in past textbooks to teach children about morals and life lessons. Their American equivalent could be Jack and Jill. The appearance of Cheol-su, who is referred to as Young-hee’s boyfriend, could have several implications for the new game in the next season.

We mentioned in our first story that actor Kim Woo-bin was born in the year of snake. Well, Kim Woo-bin has donated 100 million won (about 69,000 U.S. dollars) to Asan Medical Center in Seoul for the new year. According to his agency, AM Entertainment, the donation will be used to support treatment costs for vulnerable patients. Just last month, on December 2024, he also donated Christmas gifts and hand-written letters to about 150 pediatric patients at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Kim Woo-bin has been donating anonymously to help low-income young people since 2014, and has been sharing warm donations steadily for 11 years now.
