[Weather] Cold advisory reissued in northern regions, heavy snow in Jeolla-do


There has been a big drop in temperatures overnight, and a cold wave advisory has been reissued to parts of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do. Seoul had morning temperatures that were nearly 7 degrees lower than the same time yesterday. Both the west and east coasts, as well as Jeju, are under a strong wind advisory.
And there is a chance of heavy snow. Until Thursday, Jeollabuk-do Province could see up to 40 centimeters of snowfall, while the rest of Jeolla-do and Chungcheongnam-do Provinces could see 20 centimeters of snow. A heavy snow advisory has been issued for Jeolla-do and mountainous regions on Jeju.
Afternoon highs in Seoul and Chuncheon will be 1 degree, Daegu gets up to 5 degrees. A dry advisory remains in place for the east coast.
Much of Korea needs to brace for an extreme cold snap for the rest of the week, Thursday will be the coldest day of the season with a low of minus 12 degrees in the capital.
