President Yoon Suk Yeol is planning to establish a new role of Political Affairs Minister to work and communicate better with the opposition-led National Assembly.
The announcement came as Yoon’s Chief of Staff, Chung Jin-suk, made his remarks during a Parliamentary Steering Committee meeting.
Chung added that the Presidential Office will listen closely to lawmakers while offering sufficient explanations to them.
The position was scrapped during former President Park Geun-hye’s Administration, but it is not an unfamiliar role in the nation’s political scene.
