Pres. Yoon, Vietnamese PM agree to communicate, cooperate on Korean Peninsula denuclearization


South Korea and Vietnam have agreed to strengthen efforts for peace and denuclearization, amid North Korea’s nuclear weapons development and missile provocations.
On Tuesday, President Yoon Suk Yeol met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is on an official visit to South Korea.
Yoon expressed hope that their countries would further bolster trade and investment, especially with Korean firms participating in Vietnam’s energy projects.
Chinh said he greatly appreciates the contribution of Korean companies to Vietnam’s economic growth, pledging more supportive regulations to facilitate investment.
As Yoon stressed the importance of global solidarity and sanctions against North Korea’s weapons development, the two leaders agreed to strengthen strategic communication and cooperation for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
