[Weather] Monsoon rain pours down in central areas, heat alerts in south


Good afternoon. Heavy monsoon rain is lashing down on many parts of Korea today. The central regions, Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do Province need to brace for downpours. Throughout the day, the capital area and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province could see up to 120 millimeters of torrential rain.
Rain alerts in central regions should expand to more parts of the country including here in Seoul. Meanwhile, Chungcheong-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provinces are under “caution” the third-highest on the landslide alert’s four-tier scale.
Temperature-wise, Seoul gets up to 27 degrees, many southern provinces remain under heat advisories, Daegu had a tropical night and will see a high of 31 degrees this afternoon. Busan and nearby areas will see spotty to no rain today. Jeju will be under sunny skies this afternoon with a high of 34 degrees.
