World News 4: Prague Zoo welcomes birth of endangered pangolin

A Czech zoo has welcomed the birth of a baby Chinese pangolin, a critically endangered species native to southeast Asia and southern China.
Prague Zoo zookeeper David Vala said that the new female baby is only the second of the species to have been successfully bred in captivity in Europe, both born in the same zoo.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, all species of pangolins are under threat from poachers for their characteristic scales, which can be used in traditional medicine as well as for decorations.
A 2020 study showed that only around 10,000 of the species were left in Mainland China
